sketch : BSG – Starbuck

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

I love Starbuck. I think Starbuck kicks ass and takes names 7 days a week. And Starbuck in a dress is ever so lovely. ^_^

Today I was flipping through an old magazine that is going to a better place, and saw the photo from the episode where she wears the dress. Had to sketch it.

If you happened to catch Bionic Woman on NBC this week, Katee Sackhoff is in it, and looking so beautiful! (I think she totally outshined the main character, but I’m biased. ^__^)

an enigma shrouded in mystery

Okay, so something kinda similar to this may or may not have happened while I was living in Japan.…

:D~

This is from a new Pemco ad campaign in WA. I like their Sandals & Socks guy too. Until I saw this it never occurred to me how weird that combo is … because there really are guys running all over the place in sandals and socks around here! :D

If yer mighty bored, there are other profiles here. (Of which I like the Confused East Coast Transplant and the Accidental Tech Millionaire.)

Happy Friday! ^_^/

fall cleaning

In my quest for simplicity and zen and uncluttered living space, I have been going through the various piles of papers and books and toys and all the lovely things that I used to love but simply don’t have the space for anymore. I’ve been forced to make some pretty hard, and some “why didn’t I get rid of this sooner?” decisions.

Well, one woman’s clutter is another’s shiny new object to hold and to love, right?

Since recycling books makes me very sad (and there’s no way I’m bringing yaoi into a second-hand bookstore), I hope to find a new home for these poor magazines and dj collections. Some blank journals, too, because I just couldn’t say “no” to stationery one too many times…

If anything on this list strikes your fancy, just lemme know and it’s yours. (Choose display style E if it’s not already selected. For other details just click on the title.)
There’s nothing over $5, most of it is free, and I’d really appreciate it if you covered the $2 media mail shipping.

First come first served. PayPal is probably the easiest way to transfer funds. :)

Thanks, cousins!!

Many moons ago, shortly after completing the Atapa piece, I had an idea to do a companion illustration. I’m a sucker for art sets. ^_^
In fact, last July on my way from Japan, I was sitting in the awesome Nagaoka station waiting for the Shinkansen, and I planned out the piece. It’s been hanging out in my sketchbook ever since.

Well, the idea was persistent, and over a year later I found the doodle, dusted off my pencil, and converted it into a proper sketch.

I’m gonna sleep on it before inking. Methinks her torso is a tad long… If there are any other glaring mistakes that I just can’t see anymore, please do let me know. :)

(gawd, it feels so good to be drawing again)

le Friday

I have a somewhat common and powerful affliction — I am weak when it comes to shoes. I love them, cousins, I love all different kinds. And tho I won’t chance a broken ankle with high heels, that doesn’t stop me from admiring these impossible constructions.

As it stands, I have expensive taste and the shoes that I like tend to run in the hundreds. … Like this one for example:

Are they not the cutest? Are they not adorable? Aside from the facts that we can’t afford them and they’ll probably mangle our feet after 10 min, are they not just the most stylish thing you’ve seen all season? :D Steve Madden is still the shoe god, but Max Azria is definitely on my radar this year.

Or how about this pair?

Again, don’t look at the price. Just enjoy the smooth lines and the classic feel.

le sigh…

That’s it for my Friday. ^_^/
